Breakfast is in a large living dining area, available to guests at all times, with the occasional sighting of a regular visitor to the field opposite of a beautiful barn owl. During the summer months, cattle, including a large bull, occupy the field so plenty to look at while you eat! Most of the ingredients for breakfast are locally sourced with free range eggs from our own girls.
On offer will be cereals, muesli, yogurt, fresh fruit salad, fruit juices plus a traditional English breakfast, toast, preserves some homemade and unlimited tea and coffee. Vegetarian options are available too.
There is also a conservatory overlooking the pond and streams. From here you can see the large range of birds, moorhens and ducks visiting the garden.
Apart from Sue and Phil Traverso, there is Lucca the Spinone dog, Jasper, Tiggy and Hughie, the cats, four chickens, three ducks and two doves who live in and around the property. They all look forward to your visit and hope to make it a memorable experience but it means that we can’t take any other pets, sorry. The house is also a non-smoking property.
Gunthorpe is a conservation village 5 miles from the coast. Most of North-Norfolk’s most spectacular scenery and attractions are within easy reach and there are also some good local walks. The area has something for everybody whatever the weather. Close by are Walsingham, Blakeney, Pensthorpe wildlife reserve where the BBC Springwatch was filmed or further afield, Norwich, with its mixture of ancient and modern attractions. Blickling and Felbrigg and Sheringham Park are only a few miles away. The area is full of excellent eating places to suit all budgets.
