The Albatros was the last commercial sailing ship in Europe, and she is now moored at the quayside in Wells and offers Bed and Breakfast. She is run by the Captain as a Cafe, Restaurant and Bar.

About The Albatros...

Apart from having a drink or a meal on the Albatros you can rent one of the former crew cabins for bed & breakfast thus The Albatros provides a unique opportunity to experience life on board a traditional sea going sailing vessel, without getting sea sick!

The Ship offers basic accommodation in a unique location with fantastic views out over the harbour and marshes. And the Dutch pancakes are a real treat. A great opportunity to experience something completely different.

There is live music in the hold on Friday and Saturday evenings with a variety of performers and styles of music, and there is also some music in the bar on Sunday afternoons.

The Albatros has two 3 berth cabins in the fo'c'sle, 1 twin cabin in the midships and 1 double cabin (the captains cabin) aft below the wheelhouse.

There are two shared showers on the ship.

For Breakfast there is a choice of a 'full English', or you can choose from a selection of Dutch pancakes from the menu in the bar.



From Albatros you will have views over Wells harbour and marshes. Accompanied children and dogs are welcome on board. For more information contact Capt.Ton Brouwer.


*** Please note guests will need to be able to manage getting around the different levels on the ship and also to use the steep steps leading from the deck to the cabins and bar.


PRICES

Prices are from £27.50 per person per night, with reductions for longer stays.
The Captains Cabin is £35 pppn or £30 for 2 nights or more.

The Albatros is not a posh hotel, but offers a unique experience and warmly welcomes visitors on board.
