Generous cooked, continental or vegetarian breakfasts are served in the sun room. Evening meals are always available in the nearby real ale pub - a five minute stroll away, or you can sample our Caribbean evening meals all made with fresh local produce, available on request.
The large spacious lawn has patio areas with seating and sun-beds as well as children’s outdoor toys, and you can meet our friendly horses in the paddock.

ABOUT THE AREA
Three Acres is a superb country house situated on the Norfolk Broads twixt Winterton and Hickling Nature Reserves. In the rural Norfolk village of Somerton it is excellent for walking, cycling, sailing and bird watching, with superb views of the coast and beautiful, unspoilt, sandy beaches just a short walk away at Winterton. Perfect for family days out, there is a wealth of local interest, including the historical village church which is home to the “Norfolk Giant” and nearby there are two traditional family pubs, perfect for a relaxing drink at the end of the day. River boats and yachts can be hired by the hour, half day or day at the nearby village of Martham where you can also find a variety of shops.
If you fancy a drive, the seaside town of Gt. Yarmouth is only 9 miles away and the historical city of Norwich, with its fine cathedral and castle, is a short journey away.
FINDING US
Train/Bus:- The nearest train stations are Acle and Gt. Yarmouth. From Gt. Yarmouth take the 603/604 bus to Martham. The bus passes the front gate of Three Acres. From the Traveline East Anglia website you can get up-to-date timetables for local bus routes.
Road:- Leave the A47 at Acle onto the A1064 (straight over the roundabout). After going over the Acle bridge, take the A1152 to Martham through to Somerton. Turn right at the Lion Pub, and Three Acres is 500 yards on the left.
Alternatively take the A149 north out of Gt. Yarmouth. Travel along the Caister by-pass, over the next roundabout and along the coast road through Hemsby, Winterton, then West Somerton. Three Acres is on the right opposite Somerton Hall. |
